Black Bank Hill 2020 Wingfield Vineyard Chardonnay, Twenty Mile Bench VQA

A classy and elegant expression here.  Golden straw colour.  Green and yellow apple, lime, orange marmalade, butterscotch, wet stones, mushrooms.

Still very much in a youthful state, revealing the freshness of its fruit and flavours, with a creamy mid-palate and a zesty finish supported by medium plus acidity and a delicate oak frame.

Whole bunch pressed and barrel-fermented with 19-months élevage on lees in neutral French oak barrels.  A wild fermentation to <2 g/L residual sugar and 13.0% abv.  Bottled 4 July 2020 and given 14-months in bottle prior to release. 5+ years of improvement ahead. 72 cases made.
